My Staff Meal  offers a variety of services both long and short term from evaluations to training to creation of training materials and HR packages.

 I teach the State of California mandated 2 hour Sexual Harassment course managers and the newly mandated 1 hour course for staff with a special emphasis on the challenges particularly endemic to the restaurant industry.

HR Services.  California has the most comprehensive and extensive human resources requirements in the country.  Understanding your obligations under the law not only protects you from lawsuits and fines but is a valuable tool in building a loyal and happy staff.  Both training and HR packages (onboarding forms, manuals, etc...) available.

Staff Evaluation. There are a variety of useful ways to understand what areas of your business can  be  improved.  Visiting as a "secret shopper", following staff on the floor, assessing social media reviews, evaluating server sales and menu mix reports or a combination thereof are all methods that can quickly pinpoint problem areas and help develop a focused strategy for solving those issues.

Manager Training.  It doesn't matter how well your staff is trained if your managers aren't performing at the top of their game. From walking the floor and positiively interacting with guests to evaluating, motivating and - if necessary - disciplining staff to effectively and efficiently executing the nuts and bolts of daily operations well trained, focused and appreciated management is the key to a happy and productive staff.

Training Manual and Materials Creation.  In addition to my many years in the restaurant business, I am also a published writer and skilled and experienced creator of training manuals and materials.  From service standards to wine, liquor and food knowledge to training schedules I can create a program to guarantee successful education and training for all staff moving forward.

Staff Training. A well trained staff has the confidence to guide a guest to the best possible experience at your restaurant, to "upsell" to enhance the dining experience not "hard sell" in way that creates short term profits but costs you long term guests and to go the extra mile to create not just loyal guests but wonderful memories of time spent at your establishment.  My Staff Meal training runs the gamut from the basics of how to properly bus a table and present a bottle of wine to helping your staff understand that their ability to make someone's day (or birthday party or anniversary) is an important and meaningful job whether they do it for a day or as a career.
